We were so moved by the more than 100 entries that we simply couldn't stop at one iPad. Congratulations Sydney and Chessa — an Apple iPad and case are heading your way and we hope that you enjoy it as much as Gwendolyn does.
The entries were incredible — adults, children, babies with SMA — all with a short bio and a photo. And what stood out to us more than anything is what an exceptional group of people are impacted by this cruel disease. SMA is devastating, but those who have Spinal Muscular Atrophy are smart, funny, accomplished, and really amazing people. It is an honor to meet them and know them.
Here is a little info about the lucky winners. They were chosen using Random.org and won completely randomly (we never could have selected — every entry was extremely deserving!) –>
Sydney — Sydney is 5 years old and has Type I SMA. She lives in Michigan. Sydney lives each day to the fullest, and puts her whole heart into everything she does. She loves animals, playing with other kids, clothes and sports. Her favorite words are “I don't need help” or “I can help you, let me try”.
Chessa — Chessa turned 14 yesterday! Chessa loves to dance and play wheelchair sports. She is a Senior Girl Scout working on her Silver Award. We love her very much and are lucky to be her parents! Chessa lives in Georgia.
