Gwendolyn's Gramma is a go-getter. She is practical and proactive and after Gwendolyn's SMA diagnosis she immediately went to work to raise funds and awareness for SMA. Her very first effort was what she named the “May Day to End SMA Sidewalk Sale” and with the help of lots of friends and family the first May Day sale raised $2,500 for the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation. Last year, Gramma set out to double that and she did!!! And she always hoped others would join her and they did!!! In addition to Gramma's May Day sale, three other GSF supporters hosted their own awesome sidewalk/garage/rummage sales — the fabulous Caroline Lamont in Canada, the amazing Marjorie Trew-Munson for Lucy's Hope For A Cure in Wisconsin, and our incredible friends Erin, Heather, and Jill in Las Vegas, Nevada — bringing the collective Rummage to Cure total to over $15,000 in just two years. Well this year, Gramma has a new challenge…she wants YOU to join the effort, too.
The idea is simple. Everyone has “stuff” they don't need and anyone can take that stuff and turn it into an opportunity to raise much needed dollars for SMA research, awareness and support. And collectively Rummage To Cure can have a big impact! You can host a sale by yourself. You can join together with neighbors for a block sale. Or you can get your mom's group or church or school or youth group involved. You can even sell items on Craigslist or eBay. It's up to you how you want to organize it! And what is awesome is that one sale already took place last month with three more already planned for May!!! Will you join Rummage To Cure???
