New Bedford Half Marathon Update and New Team GSF Runners!

We are bowled over by all of the enthusiasm and positive energy being put toward fighting SMA! Runners are signing up left and right and we think it is simply incredible! And we are super excited to learn that the race director of the NB Half and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick committee are enthusiastically joining in to help SMA and are donating a portion of every registration fee. Thank you so much Stephen Taylor, Dan McCarthy, and Friendly Sons of St Patrick!

So drum roll….the total New Bedford Half Marathon runners are up to 65!!! And climbing!!! Who else is in???

And to add to the excitement, a new amazing athlete has added her name to Team GSF in another race. Renee Gronowski will be running the Buffalo Half-Marathon on May 29, 2011 in honor of Jenna Boguhn, who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). She will also be running in honor/memory of all little babies and families that are effected by this disease.

This is what Jenna's mom, Mary Boguhn, had to say:

Each quarter mile will represent an SMA family. If you would like to honor your child/friend/family member for a $20 donation, please click here or contact Mary Boguhn via Facebook.

100% of all money raised will be donated to the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation, a terrific foundation dedicated to finding a cure for SMA. Please help me raise money and awareness to stop this terrible disease.

Many thanks for your support.

Thank you so much Team Jenna for using your feet to help end SMA. And thank you all 65 New Bedford SMA Warriors running in memory of Owen Simmons! Together we can end SMA — one person, one dollar, one mile at a time!!!
