Team Callie is gearing up for the North Carolina Marathon and we are so proud of them. In honor of adorable, sweet, precocious Callie Golden, her father, Nathan, is racing on November 19th with a team of 20 by his side. Team Callie will be tackling the full, half and relay throughout High Point — and they are fighting SMA all along the way!
Callie has SMA. She is the youngest of Nathan and Christy Golden's four children (their only daughter) and works really hard to keep up with her big brothers. She is the absolute light of their family and while they have watched Callie grow physically weaker over the last two years, the Golden's have said she has shown them, “What it means to truly live.” In the past year and a half, Callie has gone to preschool, cheered for her brothers at their soccer games and learned to charm just about everyone she meets. It is that courageous spirit that inspired Nathan to lace up and race for his little girl and fight SMA with her.
There is still time to register to join Team Callie in the NC Marathon and be part of the GSF's mission to end SMA. It's simple:
- Register for the NC Marathon.
- Set a personal fundraising goal, set up your fundraising page and then let your friends and family know what an awesome thing you are doing.
- Train and have fun!
