Jerry Lewis/MDA Telethon: Gwendolyn Is Heading To Hollywood :)

We're excited and honored to have been invited by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) for an on-air family interview during this year's Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon this Labor Day weekend.Few television traditions in America are as popular as the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon or have had such an indelible impact on a disease group. The 21-hour, star-studded variety show simultaneously entertains, informs and raises funds for MDAs vital services and research programs.First broadcast over Labor Day weekend in 1966 by a lone TV station in New York City, the unique event starring popular comedian Jerry Lewis quickly caught the publics attention and raised more than $1 million in pledges. Now, more than 40 years later, the show will be broadcast by more than 170 MDA Love Network stations, assisted by approximately 250,000 volunteers across the country. Nearly 40 million people will see the show this weekend and last year the Telethon raised over $60 million dollars. Pretty incredible.

The southern/central California Telethon will be broadcast live on KCAL 9 from Sunday, September 5th at 6:00pm through Monday, September 6th at 5:00pm. We're heading to the studio in Hollywood on Sunday, September 5th and our family interview is scheduled for 7:45 p.m on Sunday. We're not 100% certain, but we think it will be live or very close to live if you are around on Sunday night this Labor Day weekend — we're just hoping that Gwendolyn will be able to stay awake that late…

Here's to raising awareness and funding!
