Grand National Roadster Show Raises Over $5,000 To Help End SMA

The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation was honored to be selected as one of two featured nonprofits for the world famous Grand National Roadster Show this year. The event, known as the longest running indoor car show in the world, was held in January 2011 at the Fairplex in Pomona and it was incredible. Truly awesome!

Hundreds of jaw dropping custom cars, great bands, celebrity appearances (including Freddie of iCarly who Gwendolyn and Sara Greene loved!), and tens of thousands of people packed the Fairplex for the event. Can you say SMA awareness! And the event included a huge “Pinstripers Reunion” where the best pinstripers in the nation were invited to auction pinstriping artwork and offer their unique pinstriping art talents to just about anything during the show — all of the proceeds of the Reunion live auction and custom pinstriping work were donated to charity and GSF and SMA received a wonderful donation of over $5,000 from the event. Incredible. Simply incredible.

On behalf of GSF and the entire SMA community, thank you Rod Shows, the organizer of the event, for selecting GSF and SMA as one of your featured causes. We'd also like to thank Kenny and Christy Greene — parents to beautiful Sara Greene — for getting us involved with this event. We had so much fun with you and your family and can't wait to go next year!

Together we can end SMA — one pinstripe at a time smile
