Ahh what a weekend! It was awesome!!! GSF's Golf For A Cure was held on Friday (more on that soon) and we were so, so excited that several of our SMA friends came into town to support it and spend time with us. The Calafiore's, Chris and Jennifer, and their darling daughter, Hayden, stayed at our house for four days of sleep over fun! And we even got to spend time with Hayden's wonderful grandparents! And the Felix family, Mike and Jaci, and their adorable daughter, Alexa, drove all the way from Arizona to spent the weekend in Santa Barbara, too.
Gwendolyn was asleep by the time Hayden arrived and it was so cute to see Hayden try to wake her up — she was so excited. And the next morning Gwendolyn got to tickle Hayden awake — which made both girls giggle contently. And that was just the start of the fun.We spent the weekend playing hide and seek, having tea parties, painting nails, playing beauty salon, holding hands, singing songs, watching movies, and just being friends. We got to celebrate Alexa's special 3rd birthday (which just passed on Tuesday)! It made us all so happy and so tearful to see the girls communicate in their own non-verbal way. It was an incredible weekend, beyond heart warming to see them all having so much fun together. And there is something immediately special about being in the company of other SMA parents — they just get it on a level that even close family and friends simply cannot understand. We got to swap tips and tricks. And we were all able to just relax.
Thank you so, so much Chris and Jennifer and Mike and Jaci for spending the weekend with us. It meant the world to us. And we can not wait to get together with you all again soon!!!
