2010 Micah March Recap: What an Incredible Event!

We had so much fun at the 2010 Micah March last weekend. It was such a positive, fun, joyful event and we were so honored to be part of it. The day was absolutely perfect — the weather was beautiful and the Ojai Valley Trail was begging to be marched on! Over 200 people walked and everyone was so enthusiastic about stomping out SMA! It was a day filled with so much laughter!!!

With the help of their incredible family, the Marshalls thought of every detail — bands, BBQ, bounce house, fun! They are so gracious, generous and thoughtful and we simply adore them. We were so, so, so excited that Micah was able to participate in this year's march in his honor as last year he was sick. And he was definitely the star of the day! And he is such a big two-year-old boy now! Gwendolyn and Micah held hands and played together for a long time with Gwendolyn continually tapping his arm. And we were also so thrilled to get to meet Courtney, an inspiring 13-year-old girl with SMA Type 1 from Oxnard, California! Courtney and her parents were so much fun and Gwendolyn really loved Courtney's sparkly nails and her cool fluorescent flip sunglasses.

It made our hearts fill with so much joy to see so many of our friends — the littlest decked out in “Gwen's Friends” shirts. Two of Gwendolyn's awesome nurses were there with their friends and family, Gwendolyn's therapist brought friends, all of Gwendolyn's little best friends were there, Bill's aunt and mom were there… people from all around came together to support this event, support Micah, and support GSF. And it means the world to us!!!

Congratulations to the Marshall family for organizing such an incredible day again. We are so proud of you, your family, and your community and we are just plain honored to be part of such a positive fundraiser! And drum roll…Donations are still coming in, but the total so far is over $10,000!!! — $5,000 of which goes to $200K for SMA!!!

Thank you so very much Marshall family and everyone who participated, donated and gathered sponsors!!! Hope to see you again next year!!!
