The “Cure SMA” project, which is currently 13th out of nearly 1,200 projects, has made it to the second round of the $2.5M American Express Members Project, but we only have until September 1st to keep up the momentum and make sure SMA receives desperately needed funding for research from American Express.

Those impacted by SMA have been fighting for years on friends and family funding to end SMA and they have accomplished so much against so many odds. Just as the resources from the SMA Treatment Acceleration Act would help push research over the finish line, the funds from the American Express Members Project will make a *huge* difference towards a treatment for SMA. We're not talking about needing $billions$ of dollars to get there; every dollar counts towards giving these children the gift of life they so desperately deserve.
