To Shave or Not To Shave was a huge success!!! Not only did Barb and Team Lucy's Hope For A Cure raise an incredible amount for GSF's “$200K for SMA” campaign — $13,647 — but they reached thousands of new people in the process. The movement that Barb and Team Lucy created is extraordinary. The energy they put forth and the energy sent toward them in return was and is amazing. Barb's determination, her willingness to not only go to the extreme by shaving her head, but to continually put herself out there to reach new people, to educate her community about SMA, to be honest about the helplessness she feels…well, it is difficult to do, and, yet, she has done this for months and is keeping at it. We are so proud of Barb — for her bravery, her honesty, her fierce determination. We are so thankful for the truly remarkable friends and family who surrounded her, supported her, and joined Team Lucy with such enthusiasm. We are so honored that she selected GSF to be part of her wonderful and positive events and that she believes in what we are doing. And we feel fortunate to know such an incredible mother!
