We absolutely LOVE Team GSF team members! We love, love, love them. We love the way they challenge themselves, we love how they motivate others, and we love that they push their bodies to the limits to make a difference for SMA.
Team Lucy's Legs is a prime example. They are rock stars. Lead my the amazing Marjorie Trew-Munson, who just had her third baby a few months ago (serious Rock Star), Team Lucy's Legs competed in the annual Race the Lake, cycling 90 miles around Lake Winnebago. Lake Winnebago is one of the largest inland lakes in the United States and the most popular lake in Wisconsin. Inspired by adorable two-year-old Lucy Zahn, Team Lucy's Legs is is Marjorie, (her hubby) DevinMunson, DannyMunson, Rick Moulton, Joe Draven, Cindy Gurzynski, and for this race two complete strangers joined in on the effort to race so one day Lucy can, too. From Marjorie:
We ended up picking up two mysterious racers that helped get our team to the top ten! I don't know who Mary Palmer and Scott McVane are, but their times, combined with Joe Draeven's, got us to #10 spot for mixed teams! Wooohoo! We ended up having a huge spread of the team's completion. Devin and Cindy rode together the first leg in the last wave (the party wave). Danny and Joe were in the faster waves. Rick started his ride at 8:30 from the relay point. I met up with Cindy at the relay (Dev took over baby duty :D) and rode with her til mile 79. Cindy was a trooper, after being plagued with 2 flat tires, at mile 79 her wheel went crooked and she couldn't finish the race. I kept on after meeting up with one of the last riders on the course. We rode in together finishing in the last two spots on the race. (It's better to finish than to not do it all right??? hehe). We raised a grand total of $570 for the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation.
