Stanford, here we come!

Tonight, we're off to Stanford to meet with Team Gwendolyn all day tomorrow. It's a pretty tiring trip, five hours each way, but we've found that getting up and back in the same day is actually less tiring than splitting it out across several days.

We'll be meeting with Dr. William Berquist, our pediatric gastroenterologist, Dr. Nanci Yuan, our pediatric pulmonologist (we call her the “mountain mover” – she's awesome!!!), and Dr. Ching Wang, our pediatric neurologist. Although it is always informative and comforting to check in with all of Gwendolyn's doctors up at Stanford, our main goal for this specific trip is to have Gwendolyn's feed changed as she is currently still on ProSobee Lipil soy infant formula and it's time to get her on a more appropriate formula for her age and development. We're definitely nervous about the change because in our experience with Gwendolyn changing anything has its potential pitfalls, but we're very comforted and confident that our doctors will walk us through everything and provide us with a plan specific to SMA and more importantly to Gwendolyn's nutritional needs.

So, off to pile in the GVan. Bon voyage!!!
