Serial Casting Round II and Construction

Never a dull moment in the Strong household…

Today, we took Gwendolyn to see her pediatric orthopedist, Dr. Early, for a checkup on how her serial casting was coming along. All good news. Her right ankle is looking very good and probably only needs another two weeks, at most, to get back to neutral. Her left ankle is also looking good, but will probably need to be casted one more time after this cast to get to neutral. Dr. Early replaced both of Gwendolyn's casts today and she smiled – literally – through the entire thing. Next week we will be taking her to get fitted for proper AFOs before another checkup, another fresh set of casts, and then hopefully she'll be coming out of these things for good and into her shiny new AFOs a few weeks after that — fingers crossed!

(Rumor has it that the new overhang may be the perfect place for a certain birthday girl's new swing — shhhhh!)
