We have had a really wonderful long weekend visiting with both old friends and new ones. We feel so very lucky to have such supportive and awesome people in our lives.
Yesterday, one of my oldest friends, Summer, and her mom, Sheri, my second-mom, spent the day with us chatting, catching up, and adoring Gwendolyn. Summer and Sheri are such amazing people and I just love being with them. We have a long history of talking for hours upon hours, while always finding something more to catch up on. Sheri came to visit not too long ago, but Summer lives in DC now and so I haven't seen her in several years. She has dedicated her life to non-profits and social justice and I love hearing about her travels, her work, her dedication. And to think we were just a couple of six-year-olds playing My Little Pony not so long ago.Today we were invited to a Memorial Day party with our local parent friends. We just love these couples and their darling tots and always have so much fun spending time together. We all met just after our babies were born (some while we were still preggos) and it has been so much fun to see how each child grows and changes. They are so thoughtful and always find ways to include Gwendolyn — even if it means throwing a Sesame Street ball up and down on the roof a zillion times because Gwendolyn thinks it is great (thank you, Daalia). Thank you Will and Daalia for such a fun day!
And Gwendolyn seems to be doing A-OK! She is such a social person and loved every minute of our weekend.
