More Weekend Fun

We had a fun weekend of celebrations and it was a great way to end the summer!

Since most of my Mommy friends originated from our PEP group (which means all of our babies are September/October/November babies), party season has officially begun. On Friday, we attended Luke's birthday party. The big 2-0. It was great to see everyone and to see all the little guys enjoying themselves. Gwendolyn had a lot of fun and, as usual, loved being social. Cupcakes were a big hit with everyone — including Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn loved seeing all of her friends and so did we. Happy Birthday little Luke. We are so glad you enjoyed your special celebration. And thank you Elena and Jason for such a lovely party.

On Sunday afternoon we headed to L.A. for Aunt Kristen's birthday party. Saddle Peak Lodge is a fantastic restaurant with lovely ambiance and great canyon-y outdoor seating. It was a gorgeous evening to be out under the big oak trees and listen to the waterfall in the background. Gwendolyn was such a good girl. She was completely mesmerized looking up at the trees, but eventually wanted to see her buddy Dora. We had a really nice time chatting the evening away and being with family. Little Sweet Pea was completely asleep before we even pulled out of the restaurant driveway on our way home.

And no Labor Day is complete without a picnic or gathering of sorts. So today we met a group of friends for both at the Mission. Gwendolyn had a blast running up and down the hill chasing her buddies (with the help of Daddy), catching bubbles (thank you Connor), and watching all the toddler shenanigans around her. And Bill and I had a blast chatting and catching up with friends, while eating Baptism cake (thank you baby Margaret) and homemade ice cream (thank you Sarah).

So long summer. Au revoir. Thank you for being so good to us. We will miss you!
