One of our good friends and Mommy to Gwendolyn's darling buddy, Bella, was selected by Cooking Light for this year's “Ultimate Reader Recipe Contest”! Nearly 3,000 people entered this contest and Marina was one of only 12 finalists — and one of only 3 in her “Family Dinner” category!!!
And she deserves it!!! Marina is an excellent cook and publishes her winning dishes on the blogs: Yummy Mummy and The Delio Family. And Bill and I have been lucky enough to sample her recipes for over a year because she is among the amazing group of parents who prepared dinners for us for so long. And, as if that were not enough, Marina has now selected the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation as her charity of choice if she wins…
Three finalists in each of four categories will compete for a $5,000 category prize at an on-site cook-off held in the Cooking Light Test Kitchen this fall. One grand-prize winner will receive $20,000, and her $5,000 category prize will be donated to the charity of her choice.
We are so thrilled for Marina to have this honor and so hope she takes the grand prize — because she is awesome!
The cook-off will take place September 14 and 15 in the Cooking Light Test Kitchen, located at the magazine's editorial headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. Marina is headed there today, so please send her your best cooking vibes!!! We are!!! Go Marina!!!
