One week away. That's right — after months and months of planning, organizing, and relentless fundraising, Lucy's Hope For A Cure's big Birthday Ball and the Big Head Shaving is a week from today. One week before Barb Zahn and the incredible Team Lucy are going bald to fight SMA! One week away from the big Birthday Ball event. And most importantly, one week away from Miss Lucy's very special 1st birthday — a milestone many with SMA never get to see!
And this is going to be a busy week! Today, Saturday, July 3rd, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, they are hosting another rummage sale and even got a consignment shop to be involved! On July 5th on Sunny 97's AM station at 7:50am and the FM station at 8:10am, and on July 8th on K107.1 at 11:10am, Lucy's incredible mama is going to be talking about Lucy, SMA and Lucy's Hope for a Cure Birthday Ball. And then the BIG celebration is Saturday! And it is going to be B.I.G. The celebration is being held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin beginning at 6pm. Enjoy a delicious dinner, live jazz, and, or course, lots of birthday cake! Then watch the volunteers lose their locks — you can even bid to do the sheering! And after all of that fun, the DJ music begins and the door prizes will be raffled off! Click here for more details. This has been a tremendous project to be involved in. The Zahns are truly remarkable and loving parents, bravely fighting with everything they have and are. And their friends and family that make up Team Lucy's Hope For A Cure have rallied like no other, working tirelessly over the last several months to help the Zahn's meet their goal of raising $10,000 for SMA research in Lucy's honor. They are incredible. They have inspired an entire area to get involved and they have reached well beyond — making a difference by their dedication and perseverance.
