Lower heart rate at 1 year. Who knew???

Last week we noticed that Gwendolyn's heart rate, while awake and sleeping, was consistently 20-30 bpm's lower than in the past. For the past 12 months her heart rate has been 130-140 while awake and 110-120 while sleeping and her heart rate is now 110-120 and 90-100, respectively. At first we were pretty alarmed, especially in conjunction with all of the other changes we had seen, but after speaking with our pediatrician and our doctors up at Stanford they explained that all babies heart rates slow down around their first birthday. Who knew??? Gwendolyn must have inherited my punctuality gene because I swear it seemed like her heart rate dropped on her first birthday smile
