Fortunately, Gwendolyn is in very good spirits — regardless of cellulitis. So, after the doctor's appointment we headed to get our Christmas tree as planned. Gwendolyn was dressed in her coziest outfit, including a scarf made by Gramma. We played Christmas carols in the car, sang along, looked at the decorations and lights on the way, and as we pulled into the parking lot to buy our tree (we can all pretend it was deep in a beautiful forest), Gwendolyn was full of excitement. We strolled through the “forest” and finally the perfect tree called our name. Gwendolyn was a tad confused by the proceedings, but was glad to have a new adventure. On our way home, now that it was fully dark, we stopped in front of a few houses that had really gone to town with their lights and Gwendolyn was mesmerized. Ho, ho, ho — almost Christmas!
