FINALLY!!! The initial human clinical trial will focus on spinal cord injuries, not SMA, but its results will have dramatic positive impacts on further research into treatments and cures for many, many other injuries, ailments, and diseases — including SMA. In my opinion, as the father of a daughter with a terminal, extremely well researched degenerative disease that could be ENDED by unshackling stem cell research, this is a huge step in the right direction.
