Yesterday, a big box arrived with Gwendolyn's name on it. She completely understands the word “present” now and was super excited to open it. I had been given a little heads up that something special was on its way from our friends Donna and Pete, who lost their beautiful youngest daughter, Andrea, to SMA when she was only 7 months old. Donna and Pete have been so kind to us and sent Gwendolyn a wonderful collection of Sesame Street books, an “I Love Elmo” shirt and, drum roll, please…Cookie Monster!!! Gwendolyn was in absolute heaven when she saw this cute blue guy. (He was always my favorite when I was little — I think it was the connection to cookies!) After having a double snuggle with Ernie and Cookie, Gwendolyn decided to watch a little Sesame Street while snuggling with her new friend. And guess who came on? “C is for cookie, that's good enough for me…” — (does everyone hear that song in their head when you say his name?)
