Sponsor-A-Mile Raises $44k, awareness of SMA

When it was all said and done, we drove 4,816 miles round trip in an RV from Santa Barbara, CA to Vicksburg, MS and back. We had a blast, blew through a ton of diesel gas, and are very proud of all that was accomplished through our Sponsor-A-Mile awareness and fundraising campaign for SMA. We ended up raising over $44,000 from 466 supporters and increased SMA awareness along the way.

We would like to thank each and every single one of the 466 people and organizations who donated to our Sponsor-A-Mile campaign. None of this would have been possible without you and we are honored and humbled by your support of our cause to raise much needed awareness of SMA and funding to help put an end to this disease once and for all.

The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation is currently waiting for final approval from the IRS on its public charity 501(c)(3) status. Unfortunately, until we receive that approval we are not able to actively make grants to research programs or fund awareness campaigns. Nevertheless, rest assured that we are not sitting idle and are working on several programs that we plan to fund or launch as soon as we can.

All the best and forever grateful,

Bill, Victoria, and Gwendolyn Strong
