100 Miles for Owen is jumping with action. Stephen Taylor who is running the Western States 100 Mile Ultra Marathon on June 26th is planning and inspiring all sorts of fun events in the Boston, Massachusetts area. We aren't quite sure where he finds the time to plan and organize all of this while also working full-time as a policeman and running oh, a million miles every week. He recently participated in a little 30 mile fun run in the rain! and for training decided to run barefoot the other day — BAREFOOT. Stephen is either crazy or awesome — we think a bit of both!
Clam Cake & Chowder Dinner –> On Thursday, June 3rd, Stephen and his team have organized a super yummy clam dinner! For a mere $10.00 the night features all you can eat clam cakes and chowder, cash bar, raffles, and a band with all proceeds to benefit the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation. We soooo wish we could go to this. My stomach is growling for the clam cakes already!

NBHS Care Wash –> This past Saturday, Stephen inspired a group of teens in the Random Acts of Kindness Club at New Bedford High School to hold a car wash to benefit GSF. Not only did the students and faculty wash hundreds of cars, they passed out information about SMA, answered questions about the cause, rallied donations and involvement, and had fun in the process. That is just the type of fundraiser we love to hear about — something so positive for all involved! And in just three hours, the NBHS students raised $1,500 for SMA research! Incredible!

Thank you so, so much Stephen and Team 100 Miles for Owen for creating so many fun and positive events and furthering GSF 's mission to end SMA in the process!
