This is seriously an amazing event! The Websters, especially Kendra, have been working so very hard on this for months and months to mark what should have been their daughter Makenzie's 1st birthday celebration. Getting through such a day without her in their arms is admirable in itself, but to spend months preparing, planning, and organizing a huge child-focused event is simply incredible. And Kendra is an incredible mom. The enormity of this day undoubtedly weighs heavily on her and, yet, she carries on, calls in more favors, plans one more magical entertainment — all for the enjoyment of other children and other families — to do something extra special and extra determined to fight SMARD in honor of her beautiful daughter — and to make a difference so one day future babies will not have to struggle as Makenzie did.
i want to make a difference in her name.
i don't care if anyone knows me, i want them to know her.
she is the reason I'm doing anything.
i don't believe her journey was supposed to end so soon.
i think she was supposed to do so much more in life.
so now- what other choice do i have but to do it for her.
and.
I'm doing it with honor.
to carry her name, to show people a different way to look at life, to tell people about these amazing children who have to live through this pain and that they do it with a smile.
they are heroes.
my daughter is a hero.
Makenzie has certainly made a difference in my life and I am a better mother for following Kendra's honest journey.
